How the estimate works

Each checklist subgrade starts at 10 and loses the points shown next to each defect, rounded down to the nearest half point. Some defects also cap the subgrade. Centering comes from the worst left/right or top/bottom split on either side, using the standard in the Centering section.

The composite follows BGS and CGC practice: the lowest subgrade sets the grade, and when only one subgrade is that low the composite goes up half a point, so 9.5/9.5/9.5/9 reads 9.5 and 9.5/9.5/9/9 reads 9. The PSA-style reading is the whole grade at or below that, because PSA grades by the weakest attribute and rarely gives half grades. Treat every number here as an estimate from photos.
